🎤 Fulbright Panel & Networking Event

On the evening of December 9th, the Nebraska Fulbright Association hosted a Fulbright information and networking event featuring a diverse panel of current and alumni Fulbrighters representing countries around the world. The discussion was led by interim chapter president, Mark Gudgel, PhD, and flowed into a lively networking session where panelists and alumni exchanged ideas, shared experiences, and built new connections. Participants joined from Omaha, Lincoln, Kearney, and communities across Nebraska, highlighting the statewide impact of the Fulbright program.

Panelists included:

• Thomas Gouttierre, 3-time Fulbright recipient, former Executive Director of the Fulbright Foundation in Afghanistan, former Dean of International Studies & Programs at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Peace Corps volunteer in Afghanistan
• Jan Moore, PhD, Fulbright Research Scholar to Canada, Professor of Communication Disorders at the University of Nebraska Kearney
• Dania Javaid, Fulbright Doctoral student in Educational Psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, from Kashmir, Pakistan
• Gabriela Amador, English Teaching Assistant in La Rioja, Spain, Dual Language Teacher at Omaha Public Schools
• Laura Roost, PhD, Fulbright Research Scholar to Rwanda, Assistant Professor of Political Science and International Relations, Faculty Associate for Academic Service-Learning
